Family trusts require a very special administrative trustee in order to make sure that all the family beneficiaries are treated fairly and to make sure that everyone gets along.
It’s not uncommon for family members, who are also beneficiaries to the trust, to have issues with one another that can lead to tension and conflict. Engaging a professional administrative trustee to manage the trust can make the process easier and reduce potential conflicts.
The professional administrative trustees of The Trustee Group have the skill set and temperament to maintain positive relationships among all parties to the trust.
The Trustee Group retains a full office staff and handles trust administration and trust management. We do not provide in-house investment advice, legal counsel, nor accounting services.
Whenever possible, we prefer to retain any existing professional teams already in place at the time we are appointed as trustees.
We will, at your behest, work with your existing team of experts to ensure a smooth transition. Trust administration, asset optimization, and family member satisfaction are our priorities.
Other trust companies may invest the funds of your trust using in-house investors. Other trust companies may provide in-house legal and accounting services. We believe that this is a conflict of interest and prefer to keep your existing team in place. We believe this provides our clients with the most benefit with regard to the family trust.
Our business is trust administration. It’s what we do and it’s our area of expertise.
- We do not create or draft the estate plan, your estate attorney does;
- We are not investment advisors, but we do work with many to aid us in investing estate assets; and
- We do not prepare tax returns, rather we will hire trusted CPAs to prepare the returns.
