The Genesis of The Trustee Group
Long before they founded The Trustee Group, Scott Yahraus and Kevin Singer worked together on multiple projects administering homes, businesses, assets, and trusts for the court system in California, Arizona, and Nevada. As court receivers, Mr. Yahraus and Mr. Singer helped hundreds of individuals keep their businesses running while they waited for the court system to resolve their issues. These projects set the stage for what would become The Trustee Group.
Born from the desire to help families and individuals navigate the confusing waters of finding a successor trustee, The Trustee Group functions as professional administrative trustees: managing existing trusts and fulfilling the wishes of the grantor of the original trust.
By leveraging their relationships with real estate brokers, general contractors, financial advisors, and business managers, Mr. Yahraus and Mr. Singer are able to provide unparalleled service to their clients. With the help of their full office of professional staff, The Trustee Group swiftly and impeccably completes the necessary details required by the trusts they manage.
Finding a Trustee with Real-World Experience
The team of Scott Yahraus and Kevin Singer received much of their trust experience being appointed over trust cases by a judge. Working as court-appointed receivers, they became well-known, well-respected, and well-trusted by the courts.
After years of being appointed over trusts, their reputation as professional administrative trustees grew. They learned what to do (and what not to do) as trustees and successor trustees. It was the logical next step to form The Trustee Group so they could help more individuals and families in need of a trustee or successor trustee.
In order to further establish The Trustee Group as a step above other trustee companies, Mr. Yahraus and Mr. Singer sought to gain the proper trust education, certifications, and licenses. They knew that if they wanted to gain the trust and confidence of their clients, they needed to be able to document their expertise.
Find a Trustee with the Right Certifications are Important
Without proper certifications and professional licensing, you can’t be sure who you’re hiring. Just as you wouldn’t hire a lawyer who hasn’t passed the bar, you shouldn’t hire a trustee or successor trustee who isn’t a Private Professional Fiduciary or a National Certified Guardian.
Both the Professional Fiduciary Association of California and the Center for Guardianship Certification have stringent qualifications that must be met in order for applicants to become certified. There are very rigorous and demanding course requirements that must be satisfied before even being able to sit for the certification examinations.
Once a potential licensee has completed the required hours of study, they are eligible to take the examination. Once the examination is completed and passed, the certification or license is issued.
Certifications and licenses are important because they let the public know that their trustee has taken and passed an examination given by a professional organization whose charter it is to provide educational and certification services to their clients. Both Mr. Singer and Mr Yahraus have taken and passed the educational courses given by the Professional Fiduciary Association of California are licensed Private Professional Fiduciaries and the comprehensive guardian certification program given by Center for Guardianship Certification to become National Certified Guardians.
Mr. Yahraus and Mr. Singer are recognized by the public and their peers as experts in the field of trusts and trusteeships and as such, are qualified professional administrative trustees.
In addition to being a licensed private professional fiduciary and a national certified guardian, Mr. Singer holds a bachelors degree in business from the University of Arizona.
In addition to being a national certified guardian, Mr. Yahraus holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Creighton University in Omaha, NE.
